Multiple Disciplines of PKU Medicine Make into Top 100 in the QS World University Rankings 2018
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released on February 28 its latest World University Rankings by Subject, and PKU Medicine was ranked 15th in dentistry, 29th in pharmacy and pharmacology, and 33rd in anatomy and physiology. The university also secured top-100 spots in medicine and nursing.
It’s been 8 years since the QS started its annual ranking program, and the 2018 rankings covered 48 disciplines and involved over 1100 universities of 151 countries. Each of the subject rankings is compiled on the basis of academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper and h-index (as sourced from Elsevier’s Scopus database, spanning a five-year period).
73 universities from Mainland China made 576 appearances on top-500 lists in various academic areas, and 29 of them made their way into top-100 lists. In particular, Peking University had 38 disciplines in the top 100, followed by Tsinghua (33), Fudan (22), Shanghai Jiao Tong (18), and Zhejiang (12).
