PKU Medical Expert Team Goes to Thailand to Carry out the “Belt and Road” Endoscopic

  From May 28 till June 1, a Peking University medical expert team went to Thailand to carry out the “Belt and Road” endoscopic activity. The team was composed of Zhang Qian, President of PKU Binhai Hospital, Deputy Director of PKU Urology Research Center and Director of PKU Health Science Center Office of Hospital Management, Wang Jianliu, Party Secretary and Vice President of PKU People’s Hospital, Zhang Shudong, Director of Urology Department of PKU Third Hospital, Wang Gang, Deputy Director of Urology Department of PKU First Hospital, and Associate Professors Yao Lin and Meng Yisen from PKU First Hospital. The team visited Mahidol University (MU), MU Siriraj Hospital, and the Medical College of Chulalongkorn University of Thailand.

  On the morning of May 29, Zhang Qian, Wang Jianliu and other medical experts visited MU Siriraj Hospital and met with President Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Vice President Prapat Wanitpongpan, and experts from departments of obstetrics and gynecology and urology, discussing cooperation issues.

  During the visit, Zhang Qian, Wang Jianliu and other medical experts visited MU together with the PKU delegate led by PKU President Gong Qihuang. They attended the renewal ceremony of PKU-MU academic exchange agreement and discussed the prospect of in-depth cooperation in the medical field with Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, the Vice President of MU Ramathibodi Hospital. It is hoped that the two sides can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in robotic surgery, learn from each other, and improve the medical level and people’s quality of life in the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road.”

  In the future, PKU Medicine will promote the development of Chinese and Thai medicine through training, academic exchanges, and other forms, explore a new model of PKU Medicine’s foreign exchange and cooperation, and further deepen friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with the “Belt and Road” partner universities and related personnel.
