Online Inauguration Held for PKU Medicine BCBA/BCaBA Training Course

  

  On the morning of March 7, 2021, the online inauguration was held for Peking University Health Science Center Training Course for BCBA/BCaBA. More than eighty trainees attended the ceremony.

  

  Wang Yufeng,  professor at PKU Institute of Mental Health and coordinator of PKUHSC VCS program, introduced the importance of the training of neurological disorders rehabilitation practitioners from the perspectives of the classification of neurodevelopmental disorders and its incidence. She stated that the training course of VCS played a key role in the following aspects: building and improving the practitioner training and accreditation system, standardizing the teaching of professional teachers, promoting the skills of professional teachers, improving children’s rehabilitation effect, and meeting the social needs that affect the development of neurodevelopmental disorders training.

  

  Jia Meixiang,  professor at PKU Institute of Mental Health and chairperson of PKUHSC VCS course building expert committee, pointed out that the teaching of PKUHSC VCS program was based on the 5th edition curriculum issued by Association for Behavior Analysis International. She was coordinating and preparing for future connection with international behavior analyst certification so as to carry out China’s applied behavior analyst certification.

  

  Professor Huang Weihe, vice chairman of PKUHSC VCS course building expert committee and part-time professor at the Department of Behavioral Psychology, Florida Institute of Technology, has an experience of more than twenty years in the practice, training, and research in behavioral psychology and applied behavior analysis. He explained in detail the objectives and characteristics of PKUHSC VCS program, the first course of which would begin on March 15. As the supervisor teacher, Professor Huang would teach the course himself.

  

  Professor Joyce Tu, vice chairman of PKUHSC VCS course building expert committee, explained in detail the curricula of the program, the development and features of behavior analysis, and the coursework. During the webinar, teachers and trainees were taught how to use the online platform of PKU School of Medical Continuing Education and had realtime Q&A on related issues.
