Zhan Qimin Attends and Addresses the Webinar “Virtual Internationalization”

  

  On September 22, Zhan Qimin, Executive Vice President of Peking University and President of PKU Health Science Center, was invited to attend the webinar “Virtual Internationalization”, which was organized by Mahidol University, Thailand. In his speech, titled “Virtual Internationalization in the Era of New Normal: Responses and Perspectives of Peking University Health Science Center”, Zhan Qimin shared PKUHSC’s practice of virtual internationalization during the COVID-19 epidemic in the fields of medical education, medical scientific research, health care services, and international cooperation. He also put forward some ideas about the application of virtual internationalization under the circumstances of normalized prevention and control of the epidemic.

  In addition, leaders from National University of Singapore, Waseda University, Macquarie University, Mahidol University, and the University of Bremen shared their own university’s practice of virtual internationalization and related influence brought about by the epidemic. The attendees held that the webinar pointed out a direction for the internationalization of universities under the circumstances of normalized prevention and control of the epidemic and that the living examples demonstrated by the guests provided practicable references for the implementation of virtual internationalization.
