Michigan-PKU Joint Institute for Translational and Clinical Research Holds 9th Annual Symposium
From October 30 to November 1, Michigan Medicine-Peking University Health Science Center Joint Institute for Translational and Clinical Research 9th Annual Symposium was held at PKUHSC. The theme of the Symposium was “molecular medicine”. Marschall Runge, Executive Vice President of University of Michigan and Dean of the Medical School, and a delegation of eighty-eight representatives and scholars from UM Medical School and its affiliated hospitals attended the symposium.
After the opening ceremony, keynote speeches were given by Qiao Jie, President of PKU Third Hospital, John Carethers, Chair of UM Department of Internal Medicine, Wang Jiadong, Vice Dean of PKU School of Basic Medical Sciences, and David Pinsky, Director of UM Cardiovascular Center. The Joint Institute also invited the PIs of all the six projects to do the report and share their experience.
At the Symposium, the two parties summarized the Institute’s achievements and experience during the last and the previous nine years and discussed about the development planning for the next five to ten years.
