Recently, the World Association of Chinese Cardiologists (WACC) General Election was held during the 2019 Annual Meeting of Chinese Doctors and China Smart Medical Summit Forum. 77 Chinese doctors were elected as members of the new WACC, including Huo Yong from Peking University First Hospital (PKUFH), vice chairman of China Cardiovascular Association and the first president of WACC. With the support and trust of all Chinese experts, he was re-elected as president of WACC, leading WACC to start a new three-year "speed-up".

　　At the WACC general election meeting, on behalf of the Association, Professor Huo Yong delivered a work report from three aspects: serving the "Belt and Road Initiative", international society cooperation and international academic exchanges, and presented WACC's work plan for the next stage. He hopes to promote the vigorous development of WACC by strengthening exchanges and cooperation among experts both at home and abroad.
