On March 27, Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee announced Peking University to be one of the first five universities to host doctoral program of Allied Health Professions.

      Allied Health Professions, formerly known as a sub-discipline under Clinical Medicine, was recognized as an independent discipline in 2011. Under its new mandate, Peking University is going to enhance academic capacity building in medical imaging, medical laboratory technology, optometry, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, medical physics, dental technology, precision medicine, intelligent medicine, medical digitalization, and advanced manufacturing.
