President of China Medical Board Visits Peking University Health Science Center
On March 20, Harvey V. Fineberg, President of China Medical Board (CMB) visited Peking University Health Science Center. Qiao Jie, PKU Executive-Vice President and PKUHSC President, met with the guests. The two sides had in-depth discussions on China-US exchanges and cooperation in the medical field. Li Wenkai, CMB Chief Representative in China, and Zhu Ziyu, Program Manager at the Beijing Representative Office of CMB, accompanied the meeting.
Harvey V. Fineberg toured around the Shuyuan Medical Library, Peking University Medical Scientific Technology Building, and some teaching buildings and laboratories, and saw the PKU Medicine’s 112th Anniversary Special Exhibition, through which he had an in-depth understanding of the history, disciplinary characteristics, and layouts of PKUHSC. Moreover, he listened to the introduction of PKU Huanmi Medical Center and the future development plan of PKU Medicine beside the sand table of PKU Huanmi Medical Center.
China Medical Board (CMB) was founded by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1914 and has been dedicated to the philanthropy in the fields of health care and hygiene in China and Southeast Asia. It’s been sponsoring and supporting the research and education in the fields of medicine, nursing and public health. PKUHSC is one of the medical universities and institutions that have the closest cooperation with CMB. Over the years, CMB has supported PKUHSC to carry out many projects in many fields, and has made positive contributions to the development of PKU Medicine.
