On March 22 through 24, 2024, the 2^nd Cross-Straits Hospital Pharmacy Conference and the 6^th Academic Annual Meeting of the Hospital Pharmacy Special Committee of the Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association (CSMEA) was held in Xiamen. Over a thousand pharmacists from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao attended the conference, made in-depth exchanges of practical experience and shared research achievements around the conference theme “working together for development.” Professor Zhao Rongsheng, Chairman-designate of CSMEA’s Hospital Pharmacy Committee and professor of the Pharmacy Department of Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH), led his team to attend the conference and had in-depth exchanges with pharmaceutical peers in the four places on both sides of the Straits.

　　During the publication session of the Guidelines in the main forum, Professor Zhao Rongsheng, on behalf of the guideline development team of PKUTH’s Pharmacy Department, issued “The Guidelines for the Standardized Management of Hospital Pharmacy Based on CHS-DRG/ DIP Payment Method”, “The Technical Guidelines for Hospital Pharmacy Practice Based on CHS-DRG/ DIP Payment Method”, and “The Evidence-based Guidelines for Genetic Testing Based on Medication Risk Management for the Elderly”, which will facilitate the high-quality development of hospital pharmacy in the new era.

　　Meanwhile, more than 50 project bids were submitted to apply for scientific research project funding by young pharmacists from the four places on both sides of the Straits. After blind review by the expert committee, a total of 10 projects were selected for the funding. PKUTH was the most funded hospital.

　　In the Young Pharmacists Forum, a total of 52 case submissions from the four places on both sides of the Straits were collected. The case by pharmacist Song Zaiwei from PKUTH was singled out after expert review and won the “Most Valuable Case Award.”

　　In the 5^th Concentric Circle Young Pharmacist Competition, 38 entries were collected from the four places on both sides of the Straits. After winning the “Best Report Award” in the 1^st Concentric Circle Youth Pharmaceutical Forum, pharmacist Li Huibo from PKUTH won the “Excellent Works Award” again with the first place, as well as the “Excellent Report Speaker” in the improvisational science popularization session.
