According to the list released in November 22, four professors of Peking University (PKU), including two of PKU Medicine, were elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering or Chinese Academy of Sciences.

　　With Prof. Zhang Qiang of School of Pharmacology and Prof. Huang Xiaojun of People’s Hospital elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering, PKU Medicine now boasts 18 academicians.

　　Prof. Zhang Qiang, along with his team, is known for disruptive innovation in nanotechnology and successful R&D of nanodrugs that transformed China from a follower to a leader in the field.

　　Prof. Huang Xiaojun and his group developed the Protocol of Haplo-identical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (“Beijing Protocol”), which addressed the scarcity of donors and transformed leukemia treatment worldwide.
