On the morning of October 30, the inauguration ceremony of Peking University Health Science Center Taizhou Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Innovation Center (hereafter as the Center) was held in the Pharmaceutical High-Tech Zone (Gaogang Distrct), Taizhou. Present at the ceremony were Qiao Jie, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Executive Vice President of PKU and President of PKUHSC, Ji Zhenhua, Vice Director of the Organization Department of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, Zhu Lifan, Secretary of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, Wan Wenhua, Deputy Secretary of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Taizhou, and some leaders from PKUHSC. They all witnessed the launching of the Center’s new journey.

　　As a new provincial research and development institution in Jiangsu Province jointly established by Taizhou and PKUHSC, the Center has an area of 6,500 square meters, and has built five platforms, including biomedical analysis instrument platform, innovative drug research and development platform, concept verification platform, clinical research platform, and disease animal model platform. Ten chief scientists of the Center are all leading experts in related fields. In the future, the Center will strive to build an all-round and three-dimensional industrial innovation chain of “government-industry-university-research-medicine-investment.” Relying on the location advantages, policy advantages and industrial advantages of Taizhou Pharmaceutical High-tech Zone, the Center will strive to build a “four-in-one” high-end pharmaceutical and health industry innovation base for concept verification, entrepreneurship incubation, clinical trials and innovative services, and talent training, to promote the cooperation between PKU Medicine’s related resources and Taizhou’s pharmaceutical and health industry, to boost the innovation and industrial upgrading of pharmaceutical enterprises, and to contribute to the implementation of major national strategies and the construction of Taizhou’s pharmaceutical and health industry.
