Professor Robert Harris, Academic Vice President of Doctoral Education and Chairperson of International Advisory Council of Karolinska Institute (KI), and Associate Professor Nailin Li, chair of KI academic affairs (China), visited Peking University Health Science Center on June 28, 2023.
During the meeting, PKUHSC Vice President Wang Jiadong said that in the post-epidemic era, the cooperation between PKUHSC and KI as the top medical universities in China and Switzerland was more important than ever. Today's face-to-face exchanges will strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two sides. Robert Harris expressed his expectation that the two sides would establish closer cooperation in the future. Subsequently, the two sides held discussions about specific cooperation issues.
During the meeting, Sun Qiudan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, PKUHSC, made a general introduction about PKUHSC, especially about medical education, scientific research, medical services and international cooperation. Yang Li, Vice President of PKU First Hospital, Zhang Hongquan, Deputy Dean of PKU International Cancer Research Institute, Li Zhanguo, Director of Rheumatology and Immunology Department of PKU People’s Hospital, Fan Dongsheng, Director of Neurology Department of PKU Third Hospital, and Li Xiaojia, Deputy Director of PKUHSC Office of International Cooperation, had exchanges and discussions about scientific research cooperation with foreign guests. During the visit, Robert Harris and his team also visited the PKU International Cancer Institute.
