From March 16 to March 21, the European Association of Urology (EAU) held the 33^rd Annual Congress at Copenhagen, Denmark. Professor Ma Lulin, Director of the Department of Urology of Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH) headed a delegation of more than ten people to attend the meeting.

　　The Annual EAU Congress is one of the grand academic urology conferences. It attracted about 14000 scholars from all over the world. The Congress embraced many ways for exchange, such as live demonstration of surgery, congress reports, lectures, master classes from European School of Urology (ESU), ESU practice training, and poster and video sessions. This platform heard more voices from Chinese urologists: there were 88 paper abstracts out of the total number of more than 2000, five of which won the title of “Best Poster”.

　　Professor Ma Lulin made a report on “Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy and Inferior Vena Cava Thrombectomy”. Presently the Department of Urology of PKUTH is able to treat the renal cell carcinoma via inferior vena cava thrombectomy at the international advanced level. In the Q&A session after the report, attendee held a heated discussion on the topic.
